CLARIFICATION
-On Request Service -

There has been confusion about the term "on request" shown in place of a timepoint on some of Kitsap Transit's bus schedules.

"On Request" indicates that the bus will serve that location or area of the route if a passenger on board the bus makes the request.  It is not intended for pick-ups.  Customer Service will not take reservation calls from people who want to be picked up by a bus at an 'on-request' location.

We will look at making changes to the language on the schedule to make it clear that we do not make 'call in' pick ups.  In the meantime, if a customer asks, please let them know that 'on request' is only for dropping off riders.  Thanks!

NEW INCONVENIENCED PASSES

Kitsap Transit is changing the way we offer a Free Day Pass or monthly pass discount to inconvenienced passengers. The new inconvenienced passes will be distributed by Routed Supervisors in person or via the mail if a rider is inconvenienced. ACCESS drivers will distribute them directly to riders. Riders will then have the chance to use one side of the pass as a Free Day Pass OR use the other side for monthly pass discount. Please see the copies of both sides of the new pass below.

The Free Day Pass side should be presented to the operators or ferry crew. They are being instructed to handle these passes the same way they currently handle blue Inconvenienced and green Get-to-Know-Us passes.

If the rider opts to used the Monthly Pass Discount side it will either come to you at the office window or with a Pass-By-Mail form. Please check to see that the Free Day Pass on the back side has NOT been used. Riders are to select one side OR the other. If the Free Day Pass has been used, the Monthly Pass Discount is not valid. If the pass is valid, please complete the “For Office Use Only” portion of the pass as you do now and add it to your cash drawer.

Please note that blue Inconvenienced Day Passes will continue to be available to CSO to give to walk-up riders who have been inconvenienced. They will continue to be valid aboard Kitsap Transit services.

Shore-to-Ship-to-Shore vs. Federal FlexPass

The Federal Government has signed on to the Federal Employee FlexPass Program. Effective October 1, you may begin seeing these passes on the boat, so I wanted to give you a heads-up. There will be 850 passes distributed no later than October 1 for federal employees who live in Kitsap County but work in the Seattle area. These passes, which we refer to as "Shore-to-Ship-to-Shore", look like this:

Please note that there is a regular Federal FlexPass as well. This pass is only good on the transit agencies on the other side of the Sound (see back of card). This pass is not valid on Kitsap Transit or on any ferry:
