Thank you for your employee referral!  Kitsap Transit is always looking for good employees. We know that many great employees are here because they knew somebody working at Kitsap Transit or they were urged by someone at Kitsap Transit to apply for a position.

If more than one employee refers a candidate for a job opening, the employee who shows up first in our online system will be considered the referring employee.  If the candidate is hired and successfully completes probation, Kitsap Transit will pay you $500.00 for your referral.   Please see the employee handbook for complete program guidelines.

Program Guidelines

  1. All current Kitsap Transit employees are eligible to refer applicants.

  2. The referral you make must be for a current job opening. This information is available through job postings at our various locations or by visiting our employment website at:

  3. The referral must be for an external candidate. Current, temporary, summer, contract and former employees of Kitsap Transit are not eligible candidates for referral.

  4. The employee that refers a candidate first will be the only referring employee eligible for payment.

  5. All candidates will be evaluated for employment consistent with Kitsap Transit’s policies and procedures. Not all referrals will be selected for employment. All applicants, whether they are referred or not will be evaluated for employment fairly, based on their qualifications. Only candidates who meet the qualifications for the position will be considered for employment.

  6. All information regarding the hiring decision will remain strictly confidential.

  7. To qualify for the referral payment, you must still be on the active payroll, and the person you referred must have completed the probationary period at Kitsap Transit.
